vIRL vIRL

Privacy & Terms

vIRL is an early prototype. Plain-language summary below.

The short version: your photo, video, audio, location, and face never leave your device. The only thing vIRL puts on a public blockchain is a cryptographic fingerprint (a hash), which contains none of your media or personal data.

What vIRL accesses, and when

What leaves your device

Only a hash. Your raw video, audio, photos, exact location, and any biometric signals are processed on your device and are never uploaded. When you anchor a proof, vIRL writes a SHA-256 fingerprint (plus a verification level and the label you choose) to the blockchain. Anyone can verify the fingerprint; no one can reconstruct your media from it.

Stored on your device

Your My Proofs list (proof links and labels) is kept only in your browser, on this device, in local storage. It is not sent anywhere. You can clear it any time from the My Proofs screen.

Feedback

If you send feedback, your message (and your email, only if you choose to include it for a reply) is delivered to the team. We do not keep a mailing list. For updates, follow us on X or Telegram.

Tracking

No advertising trackers. The homepage shows a live count of proofs read from the public blockchain; that is aggregate, not about you.

Terms (prototype)

vIRL is provided as a preview, as-is and without warranty. This prototype anchors to a Solana test network (devnet), which is not permanent; treat proofs made here as a demonstration, not durable evidence. A vIRL proof shows that a capture was a live, firsthand moment and that its fingerprint was anchored; it is not legal advice and does not by itself guarantee legal or insurance admissibility. Use your own judgment.
